A new astronomy club has been launched in the Collège Victor Hugo in Harnes, in the north of France. This club is different–it’s a girls-only club!
Maths teacher Pierre Tricot, who took part in the second StAnD Summer School last year, decided to propose this activity to his classes and has so far recruited 15 volunteers of about 14 years old. The first session of the “Club Astronomie” was on identifying different objects in space, such as meteorites and asteroids. The students were excited, one saying “This is going to be so much fun!”

We look forward to following their progress!
