The deadline for the StAnD Image Competition is 29 May 2026–you still have time to encourage your students to enter! It’s a fun way for your class to engage in authentic scientific research, using robotic telescopes through The Schools Observatory to make astronomic images.
Students can enter the best astronomy image they have and the winning images will be included in the StAnD 2027 Calendar. All selected entries will appear in the StAnD Image Gallery on the project website, with full credit to the student(s) and school.
What’s more, the students’ work and the calendar will be presented to an audience of international scientists at the Committee on Space Research 46th Scientific Assembly in Florence, Italy, 1-9 August 2026!
