Micrometeorite Kit

Exploring Cosmic Dust in the Classroom

Using the micrometeorite kit

The Micrometeorite Kit is a key component of the StAnD project, allowing students to actively participate in the search for these tiny extraterrestrial particles. The kit is designed to be used in schools, providing students with hands-on experience investigating micrometeorites.

Students will use the kit to carry out preliminary analyses of the samples, with the most promising samples being selected fora a more detailed analysis. The results of the investigations will be shared on StAnD’s website and social media.

Participating schools can elect to acquire the kit’s components or borrow it from the StAnD national coordinator. Please contact us to receive more information on how to bring the kit to your school.
