What’s in the box? We’re proud to announce the imminent arrival of the Meteor Camera Kit, coming your way soon!

Meteor Camera Kit
The Meteor Camera Kit has been specially designed for StAnD

This custom-built camera (produced by n-3.it) will be used by certain schools, working in threes, to empower students to identify meteors in the StAnD program! By working in threes, the schools will obtain better images, providing a more precise view of the section of night sky that is targeted.

Using this innovative kit, provided free of charge to specific schools participating in the project, students will engage in a hands-on exploration of the night sky. It’s a great opportunity for our young astronomers to connect with science in a whole new way.

Dario Barghini, the mastermind behind the Meteor Camera Kit at INAF says: “The development of the kit took several months. We wanted to make sure that everything was designed to be suitable for use in schools. Teachers and students will be able to operate the Meteor Camera Kit from their laptop internet browser.
We are now working to publish the data analysis tool, with which the students will be able to understand more about the meteors observed by their camera.”
