StAnD Image Competition!
M27, the Dumbbell Nebula, (AiM Münster/The Schools’ Observatory)
Start this new school term with a competition for your students!
Enable your students to create their own astronomy images with professional robotic telescopes – the best images will be printed in the StAnD Calendar 2027!
And all selected entries will appear in the StAnD Image Gallery on the project website, including full credit to the student(s) and school.
This is another way to help your classes engage with astronomy and learn how to use The Schools Observatory.
Categories of the image competition
- Gas Nebulae
- Galaxies
- The Moon
- Comets and Asteroids
- Meteor Camera Images
The Moon is covered in craters showing the impact of asteroids, and the 2m Liverpool Telescope (La Palma) can help students to capture images of this surface.
