A new astronomy club has been launched in the Collège Victor Hugo in Harnes, in the north of France. This club is different–it’s a girls-only club!

In case you missed this, StAnD has opened an image competition for students using robotic telescopes (and there’s also a category for images from StAnD meteor detection cameras, if the students have access to one)!

We’re excited to announce the first joint detection of a fireball from all StAnD meteor detection cameras in Greece!

High school students benefitted from lectures on astrometry and photometry for the extra-curricular Astronomy and Astrophysics course from INAF.

Did you know that the StAnD meteor detection cameras can also spot aurora? Students in Germany were lucky enough to observe the aurora in colour with the naked eye — and they could also study the phenomenon using an image captured by their StAnD meteor camera.

On 13 December 2025 at 22:26:40, the Ellinogermaniki Agogi meteor camera recorded its first fireball!

Huge congratulations to the schools that are taking part in the latest StAnD Asteroid Search Campaign (14 November to 10 December): they have made a total of  7 preliminary asteroid discoveries so far!

The StAnD Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) is ready! It’s called the StAnD Academy and it provides essential professional development and support to educators participating in StAnD.

The fourth StAnD transnational project meeting took place in Münsterschwarzach, Germany, on November 13th and 14th, hosted by FTP-Europlanet at the Egbert Gymnasium.
